The series of models below were drawn at SDSU to illustrate the roles that Information Systems can play. 

The many roles can be broadly arranged into two main categories: "Operational" and "Decision Support".

These are elaborated below.


"Local Automation", Accountability and Planning

Enterprise-level Decision Support System ("DSS")
